Common questions
Is a king worth it over a double?
A king (150×200cm, 5ft) is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than a double, so each partner gets about 75cm — closer to a single each — plus extra length for taller sleepers. If your room can take it (around 3×3.4m), it’s the upgrade most couples notice first. In a tighter room, the double still makes better sense.
King vs super king — how much bigger?
A UK king is 150×200cm; a super king is 180×200cm — the same length but 30cm wider, roughly another single’s width shared between you. Both suit tall sleepers at 200cm long. Choose king if your room is average and you want more space than a double; step to super king only if the room is genuinely large.
UK king vs EU king — are they the same?
No. A UK/Irish king (this frame) is 150×200cm, while a continental EU king is 160×200cm — 10cm wider. Mattresses aren’t interchangeable, so buy a 150×200cm mattress for this frame; these are standard in Ireland. If you already own a 160cm continental mattress, choose our EU king frame instead.
