Overview
The EU King gives you 10cm more width than a UK king without going full super-king — and it's the frame to choose if you already own a continental 160 × 200cm mattress. Solid hardwood holds a big mattress dead flat across the width, with none of the sag or squeak of MDF and metal.
Dimensions
EU King — 160 × 200cm. Takes any standard mattress this size.
Materials & care
Solid Hevea Maple hardwood throughout — no MDF, veneer or particleboard. Walnut or Natural finish. Wipe clean with a dry, soft cloth.
Delivery & assembly
Free delivery and assembly anywhere in Ireland — we bring it in, build it in your room, and take the packaging away. You just add the mattress.
Built to last
Solid hardwood, properly jointed — it stays square and silent for decades, not the year or two you get from flat-pack. The kind of frame you pass on.
Why solid wood
Premium solid hardwood, oak-comparable in density, for the continental size. Test it at our Monkstown, Dublin showroom, learn about Hevea Maple, or pair it in a frame + mattress bundle.

Common questions
EU king vs UK king — what’s the difference?
An EU (continental) king is 160×200cm; a UK/Irish king is 150×200cm. The length is identical — the EU size is just 10cm wider. That 10cm matters because mattresses don’t cross over: a 160cm continental mattress won’t sit correctly on a 150cm frame. Choose this frame specifically if your mattress is the 160×200cm European size.
Where can I buy a 160×200cm mattress in Ireland?
Continental 160×200cm mattresses are less common in Irish high-street shops than UK sizes, but widely available from European brands and online mattress retailers that ship to Ireland. Many people choose the EU king frame because they already own a continental mattress. The frame takes any standard 160×200cm mattress — just confirm the size before ordering.
Who actually needs an EU king?
Mostly people who’ve bought a European-brand mattress (or moved from the continent) and need a frame to match its 160×200cm dimensions. If you’re buying frame and mattress fresh in Ireland, a UK king (150cm) is easier to source and 10cm narrower. Pick EU king when the 160cm mattress is the fixed part of the equation.
